As cyclone Ita left a line of destruction I was escaping the West Coast. Plans on a longer mission into Fiordland were no longer practical so we opted for a shorter mission into the Arrowsmith area.

A leisurely afternoon start from Lake Heron and we were on our way,  heading downstream, into the mountains. A meandering sluggish float slowly became swifter as more water joined from other valleys. We spent the first evening battling through some Matagouri in the dark before arriving at the first musterers hut for a good nights sleep. Here are a few pics and a little edit of the 4-5 day trip.
